SALVATION ARMY WEEKLY MONDAY MEAL-RUN
As you know, for many years the Winton Salvation Army have provided a hot meal & help to some of the homeless of Bournemouth from a mobile canteen in our Churchyard. For the last 3yrs or so, some of the congregation & friends have been privileged to help in the winter months, opening the Church and providing hot drinks, additional food and a warm, dry place in which to eat their meal.
We have always wanted to do more and the Army decided that in order to provide more, the operation will move to their Winton base (til Jan when it will be reviewed) where they are able to provide showers, hairdressing etc, as well as all the facilities previously provided outside St Peters. This clearly helps to give more dignity and assistance to the guests than we can provide “outside”.
The “St Peters Team” would like to thank everybody for their practical help, goodwill and prayers and hope that in the future we will have the opportunity again to show our Christian Love in practice.
