St. Stephen’s Church

St. Stephen’s Church was built in 1880 and can be found on St. Stephen’s Way, just across the road from Bournemouth Town Hall. The church was designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson.

The church has an active devotional life, and encourages regular members to adhere to a calendar of events such as Holy Week Liturgy, Advent through to Candlemass and The Week of Salvation.

St. Stephen’s benefits from being centrally located and as a result has great appeal owing to its accessibility and picturesque setting. The churchmanship here  follows an Anglo-Catholic tradition that has continued since the church’s  construction over 100 years ago. Musically, the church maintains a choir made up of 20-25 singers with a wide and varied repertoire. The church as a whole is firmly committed to being a presence in the local community and welcomes people interested in the life of the congregation and the church building alike.
