Stop press: The Bishop of Southampton and the Mayor of Bournemouth launched the St. Peter’s Development Fund Appeal on Monday 7th March at 5.30 pm, in the presence of HM’s Lord Lieutenant of Dorset. It was  announced at the Launch that St Peter’s Church had been awarded the first phase of its Heritage Lottery Fund bids to restore the church, and its organ. Trustees of St Peter’s Church are hoping to raise £2.5 million for phase one of the planned work, including the restoration of the stonework and the nave windows, which have been badly weathered. Ken Mantock, chairman of the project group, said they hoped to work with students and other organisations to celebrate the cultural heritage of the church and its connections with Bournemouth. To find out how you can help out with the restoration either by donating or volunteering, email the Rector, Fr. Ian Terry,  at btcp@live.co.uk.
